This 10" tall peppermill is handcrafted of spalted maple. It is one of a kind and will not be duplicated. The mechanism is stainless steel and is adjustable for coarseness of grind. Spalted maple is from a tree that has fallen and lain in the water for awhile, producing the black streaks and discoloration in the wood.
